We at Altadore Church are eager to be authentic in the expression of our Christian faith.  Our church’s vision statement challenges us to live in this way.  At Altadore Church, we encourage people of all ages to get involved in ministry to others.

Christmas Offering 2023

Local focus: Our Local option is Basically Babies, helping to supply clean, good-quality, gently-used or new baby clothing and supplies to families in need. Tangible gifts and cash donations can be attached to our Giving Tree. (see attached poster for more information).

Global focus: Our Global option is in support of CBM’s "What's Most Needed". This Advent season, our global offering will support CBM's Hopeful Gifts For Change. With a spirit of cooperation, we work collaboratively with our global partners who are best positioned to understand the needs of their communities. This local wisdom enables us to support families and individuals from a place of mutuality that leads to effective strategies. At the same time, the unpredictable nature of our world today makes flexibility a necessity. As needs change, or new ones arise, CBM, along with our partners, aims to provide what will make the most difference in a person’s life or community. By having the resources readily on hand, we can provide support and pivot as the needs come into focus. Whether it’s responding to crises, investing in sustainable programs, or empowering individuals, we are committed to supporting our local partners by investing strategically in mutual priorities. Together, we can bring meaningful change to a hurting world by giving to What’s Most Needed. Additionally, CBM indicates that all “What’s Most Needed” donations will be doubled this year. Donations can be made via bank e-transfer to tellers@altadorebaptistchurch.com (please specify “CBM Advent Offering”), or by cash/cheque using an offering envelope (please specify “CBM Advent Offering”).

UPDATE FROM EVIE:

Lebanon

As a church we support two projects in Lebanon; the True Vine School in Zahle, and the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut.  The True Vine school is located in the Bekaa Valley, an area that has been flooded with Syrian refugees.  This school is for Syrian refugee students in grades kindergarten to grade six .  These 200 children have not been able to attend school for up to two years. The Arab Baptist Theological seminary is designed to equip leaders for the church in the Arab world.  There are 44 full time and 20 part time students registered from Morocco, Algeria, Sudan,  Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen.  Only strategic leaders, those who are endorsed and sent by their churches to be equipped for effective service, are registered.  They must also have a very clear calling to go back in order to serve their communities.  This is one of the few places in the Middle East and Northern Africa where Muslim background believers can become equipped to serve Christian churches.

Gull Lake Centre

Gull Lake Centre is an exciting place for children, youth and families. This is a year round camping, retreat and educational organization. A strong focus is placed on the 3 year Leadership Training and Discipleship (LTD) Program for youth. Gull Lake Centre offers a year round program schedule and allows other organizations to rent their facilities for retreats and conferences.
