This week, we’re reflecting on the “one thing” that is capturing our attention in these early days of Lent.

For many years now, we have encouraged one another along the journey toward Easter by creating and sharing a Lent Devotional Book as a church family. This work allows us the opportunity to dig deep into a piece of Scripture, to share how God has spoken to us through our verses, and then to be encouraged and challenged by what others have experienced. We encourage our congregation to participate both in the creation and the enjoyment of our Altadore Lent Book!
Watch for the Altadore Church 2026 Lent Devotional made available in print or digitally by Sunday, February 15th, 2026.
As Christians we have the privilege of a deep and loving relationship with God. We know that many of our LGBTQ2S+ relations who want to share their God-given love are scared to, for fear of discrimination or violence. Pride Month is a reminder to lift up our friends and family who are oppressed so that they can live in peace and freedom, able to love and share as their authentic selves.
Over the fall we'll be taking a deep dive into The Ten Commandments. It's a familiar story to most who've grown up in the church but in our theme of 'Freedom From - To Freedom For.' we'll be looking a little closer at what they mean and their purpose in God's story and our story while exploring one of the fundamentals in faith for all who've just started their faith journey ❤ Hope to see you there!
We are very excited to be introducing the Let’s Dig program this fall! This program will provide opportunities after church for families to have fun together digging into God’s Word. We have space, we have resources, and we have families – Hallelujah! We also know our volunteer resources are pretty thin, so this program will not provide supervision, but will focus on a few fun activities with an easy lesson plan for families with young children to enjoy together. We do encourage you to participate as you can – volunteer if possible, donate items as needed, join in the activities if you like, or just sit back with your coffee and enjoy the sound of kids having fun. We look forward to ‘breaking ground’ together with this new ministry!
Our wonderful children’s ministry Playtime in the Village is starting up again on September 12th. This free drop-in program is designed as a playtime for children and a coffee & chat time for nannies, parents & caregivers. Please join us and invite your friends! Tuesday mornings, 9:30 am to 11:00 am September-May.

We acknowledge that the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta, on which we stand, is the ancestral traditional land of the indigenous people, and we are grateful for their stewardship of the land and their hospitality which allows us to live, work and serve God, the Creator, here together.
ThE land we meet on has held God's worship since god first formed it. We are grateful for God's gifts from this land that nurture us, and for the many who have nurtured the land before us.
We recognize the pain and turmoil that has come with the settlement of this place, acknowledging now our role in bringing God's healing peace through relationship with the land and all its diverse peoples.
We affirm our pledge for justice, for peace, and to make our church a place where all people, regardless of labels, are welcome to experience the true love of our Creator God in authentic community.
